Matching Arms

British Empire Exhibition Wembley 1924; British Empire Exhibition Wembley 1925

Additional Notes

There are two forms of this model as shown in the photograph: white with a coat of arms, and coloured with no coat of arms. It was presumably produced, like many of the other Goss animals, for sale at the British Empire Exhibition, which was held at Wembley in 1924 and again in 1925. Hence these arms are suggested as matching. Early references to the model name it as a jaguar because the white version, which was the first of the two to be (re)discovered, was initially identified as such, the misnomer only being corrected some years later when the coloured version turned up.
