Additional Notes

Apart from the inscription, this model is identical to the Perth Coronation Chair and can similarly be found in three different forms: white glazed (as shown in the photograph); white glazed, but with the stone beneath the seat coloured brown; and brown unglazed. In this case, however, all three forms generally carry a coat of arms. The model was registered in 1911 and listed as a new model in the 8th edition of The Goss Record, though it doesn’t specify any variants. However, an advertisement by Henry Jones, the London Goss agent, in the same edition does mention both the white versions, and indicates that the one with the ‘old stone’ was more expensive than the completely white version.
