Tresco Brazier

Registered in 1911 and illustrated and listed as a new model in the 8th edition of The Goss Record. The matching arms are often given as those of F. (or T.) Algernon Dorrien-Smith, Lord Proprietor of the Isles of Scilly, and indeed these arms actually turn up fairly frequently on the model. However, since there appears to be no direct connection with those specific persons, the preferred matching arms are those of the geographical location, namely St. Marys, Isles of Scilly, which is where the Goss agent for the Scilly Isles was situated. Somewhat curiously, perhaps, the arms of St. Marys seem to crop up much less frequently than those of the Lord Proprietor, and not just on this model but in general, even though both were presumably available from the same agent.
