Model of the Stratford-on-Avon sanctuary knocker. Copyright

Dimensions

height: 72mm

Matching Arms

Stratford on Avon

Additional Notes

A two-handled mug bearing a model of the sanctuary knocker on the door of Holy Trinity Church, Stratford-on-Avon (the church in which Shakespeare was baptised). The model is listed in the 9th edition of The Goss Record as being in preparation, so presumably went into production in 1921 or shortly afterwards. As with all the Stratford-on-Avon models, it was available only from the Stratford agent up until around 1929 so it is most likely to be found with Stratford or related arms.
