Additional Notes
The small size is sometimes found with two coats of arms, and it can also be found with no arms but bearing a motif consisting of a coloured crown above the legend “CR 1646”, which is thought to commemorate a visit by King Charles I to Salisbury in 1646. The large size always bears this “CR 1646” motif, usually together with two coats of arms but sometimes alone.
