Below are listed the items available in this month's auction. For each lot, descriptions both of the piece and of the arms or decoration it bears (if any) are given, followed by its reserve price. Lots listed in normal (upright) typeface were produced by the Goss factory, though this is not stated explicitly in the individual descriptions unless the item is a late "Goss England" piece. Items produced by other factories are listed in italic type, and in these cases the description begins with the factory name, which is underlined.
Please note that the auctions are only open to members of the Goss Collectors' Club, who are welcome to submit bids for or requests for information about specific pieces in it by email to the club auction secretary. Members and non-members may also purchase unsold items from earlier auctions at the reserve price. Regularly updated lists of the currently available items can be found here.
Non-members may send in postal bids for pieces in these auctions provided their membership application and the appropriate subscription is sent at the same time. Please see the club's home page or contact its system manager for details.
For the full terms and conditions of bidding please see the auction rules.
Enquiries regarding the Goss Collectors' Club may be submitted to its system manager.
Welcome one and all.
Over recent months I have struggled to attract quality pieces to put before you as vendors have had a, natural, disinclination to offer better pieces with the thought that there was little to no chance of obtaining a reasonable sale. The reality has been that quality pieces have always had a market and a couple of vendors have heeded my previous assertions on this subject. Thus this month I am able to offer the first of many pieces of quality – please don’t let me down.
I am also listing below several pieces bearing Yorkshire crests – it is a very big county but unless I am mistaken, which is highly likely, the number of pieces I offer which originated in the county seems to be disproportionately low.
A very special offer - it is quite some time since I have been in a position to offer free P & P for items purchased from the unsolds listings but this I will do for the period 15th August to 15th September no matter how many or how few, even a single piece or a package which requires Special Delivery costs. Over to you.
For many years I have been receiving postage stamps for onward transmission to charity. From time to time I am asked if I am still doing this and the very strong answer is ‘YES PLEASE’. However in order to obtain anything that resembles a reasonable sum, which in any case is only raised by substantial numbers, it is imperative that there is an approximate ¼ inch border so that it may be immediately seen that there is no damage. A very big ‘thank you’ to those half dozen members who have been sending me stamps over very many years their combined efforts do make the whole scheme worthwhile. If anybody wishes to join in please do so the more I get the more will eventually be raised – currently for MacMillan Nurses.
Please let me have your bids by 2.30pm on Saturday 18th September - yet again I beg on bended knee that those who bid by e-mail, bids by midnight on the 17th, include their full mailing address.
Ted

If you wish your parcel to be sent to other than your home address please advise me with your bid.

Cheques to be made payable to Goss Collectors’ Club.
