Below are listed the items available in this month's auction. For each lot, descriptions both of the piece and of the arms or decoration it bears (if any) are given, followed by its reserve price. Lots listed in normal (upright) typeface were produced by the Goss factory, though this is not stated explicitly in the individual descriptions unless the item is a late "Goss England" piece. Items produced by other factories are listed in italic type, and in these cases the description begins with the factory name, which is underlined.
Please note that the auctions are only open to members of the Goss Collectors' Club, who are welcome to submit bids for or requests for information about specific pieces in it by email to the club auction secretary. Members may also purchase unsold items from earlier auctions at the reserve price. Regularly updated lists of the currently available items can be found here.
Non-members may send in postal bids for pieces in these auctions provided their membership application and the appropriate subscription is sent at the same time. Please see the club's home page or contact its system manager for details.
For the full terms and conditions of bidding please see the auction rules.
Enquiries regarding the Goss Collectors' Club may be submitted to its system manager.
Greetings fellow collectors.
I am sure that most if not all who read this will be aware that I had major computer problems just before Christmas – isn’t the timing of these things always, seemingly, just when you could do without them. Whatever, I have lost a great deal of data and amongst this is my e-mail address book. Whilst I can, and obviously will, re-build this as I am contacted could I please ask you to send me an e-mail if I am currently selling pieces on your behalf so that our communications may be re-established – thank you.
To the March listing. I am pleased to say that it is somewhat longer than recent offering but still somewhat shorter than we had got used to in 2008. Those with a better memory than mine will no doubt spot that there are many re-submissions but there have been reductions in very many reserves so, hopefully, making them more attractive.
If something tempts you then please let me have your bid/s by 2.30 on Saturday 20th March and if bidding by e-mail by midnight on the 19th please - together with your full mailing address.
Ted
Please note that if you want further advice about a piece/s please contact me in the 48 hours before the auction.
If you wish your parcel to be sent to other than your home address please advise me with your bid.
All packing is done the day after the auction so it is not possible to add further pieces to your package – they either have to bear their own P & P charge or await inclusion in a future month’s package.
If payment will be delayed by holidays please advise me with your bid, if you want your parcel to be retained until you return from holiday please tell me when you make payment.
If you wish to ring me please do so between 10am and 9pm but not on Tuesday evenings.
If you intend ringing for the result of your bid please advise me so when you bid.
All packing is done the day after the auction so it is not possible to add further pieces to your package – they either have to bear their own P & P charge or await inclusion in next month’s package.
When bidding by e-mail please include full postal address and ensure you obtain an acknowledgement, if you don’t get an acknowledgement I haven’t received your bid.
Cheques to be made payable to Goss Collectors’ Club.
In the above listing there may be references to ‘Collecting Coloured Cottages’ by Sam & Maggie Seabrook and/or ‘Collect Crested Cats’ by Marilyn & Colin Carter.
I can provide contact details if you wish to purchase a copy of either of these publications

Priests House, Prestbury (This is a super crisp example, especially the black & white ‘timbering; unfortunately though there is a flake, about half the size of my small finger nail, from the base edge of the windowed bay to the left of the front door. This should be a simple restoration project that should be able to, visually, restore the piece to be a fine example. Unfortunately I no longer know of a capable restorer – if any member does please do your fellow members a favour by letting our Editor have contact details) |
